History

From historical point of view, cards has a strong affinity with the automotive sector. The company was founded in 1989 under the name of cards Engineering and focused mainly on hardware maintenance for the automotive industry and their suppliers. Over the years the strategic role of cards changed from hardware supplier to solution provider in the automotive sector for large customers like Ford Motor Company.

cards Engineering kept developing towards system integrator, operating nationally and internationally, providing solutions for the automotive sector and beyond. A new services unit named SI (System Integration) was founded as a result in the headquarters of cards Engineering in Cologne. Subsidiaries in the countries The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, UK, France, Spain and the USA were opened.

In 1999, July, the Dutch Branch office was opened and led by Erik Burghoorn.

In 2005, a management buy-out took place and Erik Burghoorn became 100% owner of cards Engineering Nederland BV.

June 2006, cards Engineering GmbH and RLE International have merged into casolute GmbH (www.casolute.com), with which cards Engineering Nederland BV still holds a strong relationship.

Due to the growth cards Engineering has sustained since 1999 and the increase in activities, the decision was made to increase focus and to split the company in four different activities. These activities are classified under four legal entities under the following names:

cards PM Solutions, cards ICT Solutions, cards ICT Services and cards OEM Solutions.

These companies are part of the holding cards Engineering Nederland BV.
