Nieuwegein, April 24, 2008 - Mitel, a provider of IP communications solutions, and Sun Microsystems, provider of IT infrastructure, giving their global OEM agreement further by the introduction of the Sun Ray Unified IP Client from Mitel.

The Sun Ray Unified IP Client is a combination of Sun Ray ultra thin client and a Mitel IP phone. Mitel integrates the two solutions through a special device Sun Ray module, confirmed by an IP phone. It is also possible to separate Sun Ray ultra thin clients to connect to Mitel IP phones, allowing the camera module is unnecessary.

With a personal and authenticated Java Card users simultaneously log in on both the Mitel IP phone as the Sun Ray ultra thin client. They have such a complete unified communications and secure environment with integrated voice and data services. Within five seconds after the user's Java Card into the thin client Sun has invested, he has access to his personal and desktop IP phone with personal settings.

The combined solution is extremely energy efficient. Not only Mitel IP phones have a low energy (3.3 watts compared with 6 or more watts of comparable IP phones on the market), the Sun Ray ultra thin clients by only 4 watts a fraction of the amount of energy PCs (200 watts) or laptops (60 watts) used. Besides the thin client solution reduces the complexity of the IT environment and simplifies management. The company employs approximately 2,000 staff dispersed around 30 locations in Netherlands and Belgium. Availability
